Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales and Mark “Hadess” Lazaro came up clutch for ECHO in Game Three to deal TNC a heart-breaking 2-1 loss in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Eight, Sunday evening.
ECHO took an early lead in Game Three all thanks to the exploits of Jankurt “KurtTzy” Matira’s Thamuz, however, TNC managed to scale up in time to take over in the late game.
With their options limited, Bennyqt (Chou) and Hadess (Ling) caught TNC off guard in the Lord pit – split-pushing the bottom lane to steal the victory.
KurtTzy, who held the fort for ECHO in the early game, was named the SMART 5G MVP with five kills, three deaths, and three assists in the match which lasted for 20 minutes and 59 seconds.
“Pinaghandaan naman po namin yung ganung line up and confident po kami doon kaya ‘di po kami masyado ang worry,” said Bennyqt after the game.
ECHO, who now has a 5-6 record, forced a tie with RSG PH (7-3) at the third spot with 16 points apiece.
Bringing out a surprise Argus pick in Game One, ECHO’s dominance in the gold lane translated to a 20-11 Game One stomp.
Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales had all the space in the world all thanks to the timely rotations coming from Rion “Rk3” Kudo (Rafaela) and Christian “Rafflesia” Fajura’s Grock. This allowed ECHO to take over as early as the seven-minute mark despite TNC’s efforts to convert trades.
The star gold laner took the SMART 5G MVP after putting up six kills and eight assists against just one death in the 14:38-minute Game One win.
The men in orange showed great poise in the second game, securing Game Two on the back of Patrick “P-GOD” Ibarra’s Nana – who posted a 6-1-12 KDA line in the 24-8 victory which lasted for 20 minutes and seven seconds.
TNC, who suffered its seventh defeat of the season, fell to a 2-7 standing at the last spot with seven points.
ECHO will come back next week, Friday against Nexplay EVOS at 6:00 PM. Meanwhile, TNC looks to pump life to its playoff campaign on the same day against RSG PH at 8:00 PM.
