Belo’s spectacular campaign ends with D-League MVP award

Mac Belo has led the Phoenix-Far Eastern University Accelerators to the 2016 PBA D-League Aspirants Cup Finals.

With this accomplishment, the UAAP Season 78 Men’s Basketball Most Valuable Player added another trophy to his cabinet: the 2016 PBA D-League Aspirants Cup Most Valuable Player crown.

Belo averaged 18.7 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists throughout the elimination round. During the season, he was also able to set a D-League record in scoring 41 points in a loss against the Caida Tile Masters during the elims.

In compiling an outstanding 36.14 statistical points, the 23 year old bested teammates Mike Tolomia and Ed Daquioag, and Cafe France-Centro Escolar University Baker Carl Cruz and Samboy De Leon to win his first D-League individual award.

The Phoenix-FEU Accelerators are playing the Cafe France-CEU Bakers in Game Four of the Finals as of publishing.
