Chinese club Ba’Yi Shenzheng became the first team to enter the AVC Asian Women’s Club Championship Finals, ousting Kazakhstan’s Altay VC 25-20, 12-25, 25-12, 25-23 at the Alonte Sports Arena in Biñan, Laguna.
Ba’Yi Shenzeng, which is composed mainly of Team B players from the FIVB world number 1 country China, pulled 24 points from Asian and World U23 MVP Liu Yan Han. Open hitter Wang Yunlu managed 17 points.
“We played great today. Kazakstan also played great but I guess we were luckier in the end,” said Ba’Yi head coach Burhan Saik Canbolat.
The Chinese head into the Finals undefeated in six matches and having lost just three sets.
Russian Olga Biryukova towed Altay VC’s offense, scoring 22 points while Sana Anarkulova added 17 markers.
