Basilan’s Philip Manalang joins 2021 PBA Draft

Pure point guard Philip Manalang will be entering the 2021 PBA Draft.

He will be the only representative of Phenom Sports in the yearly festivity.

Though just 5-foot-10, Manalang, 23, is one of the few pure point guards in the upcoming class.

Manalang spent five years at University of the East. There, he averaged 6.58 points, 3.25 rebounds, and 3.42 assists per game in 12 games played in his senior year.

Immediately after his final game for the Red Warriors, Manalang joined Basilan Steel. He played 18 games with norms of 2.8 points, 2.6 assists, and 1.6 rebounds.

His situation following the draft remains unknown, but the MPBL resumes after the event. The Steel is in the Final Four of the Chooks-to-Go Lakan Cup.
