Bagunas’s 17-point game goes to waste as Weisse Adler absorb 14th loss in V.League

Bryan Bagunas’ season-long heroics continue going down the drain.

This as his Oita Miyoshi yielded to Sakai Blazers anew, 19-25, 25-21, 18-25, 22-25, in the 2020-21 Japan V.League Division 1 Men’s tournament at the Shinnittetsu Sakai Gymnasium, Sunday.

The Filipino import has been doing the heavy lifting for Weisse Adler for much of the campaign. This time, he dropped 17 points, 16 coming from spikes, and a block kill.

Masaya Katsu had a team-high 18 points. On the other hand, Australian import Curtis Stockton only played two sets, finishing with just three markers.

Oita Miyoshi stayed winless in 14 outings heading into the month-long break of the V.League.

Naoya Takano scattered 23 points for the victors founded on 17 spikes, three blocks, and three service aces. Yuki Higuchi chipped in 19 markers of his own, as the Blazers improved to .500 at 7-7.

Weisse Adler resume play on January 9, 2021, at 1 pm, at the Hiroshima Prefectural Sports Center against JT Hiroshima.
