With the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference title up for grabs between the F2 Logistics Cargo Movers and the Foton Tornadoes this coming Wednesday, Aby Maraño believes her team can bounce back if they play to their strengths.
The 23 year old middle blocker also stressed that she needs to assert herself more to ease the pressure off her teammates. With Foton loaded with powerful hitters like Jaja Santiago, Cherry Rondina, Angeli Araneta and Maika Ortiz, Maraño knows she must make the most of her chances to score.
“Why not make the most out of that moment? Ikaw ‘yung maglalaro, [at] mapapanalo mo. Hangga’t maaari kapag nasa harap ka lagi kong pinapaalala sa sarili ko na kailangan quality time na andito ako makapuntos ako para sa kanila,” the 2014 PSL Grand Prix Best Middle Blocker added.
“Whether it’s Foton or not, ang sa akin talaga basta umabot tayo ng championship kailangan makuha na natin ito kasi sobrang daming team na gustong maglaro for finals. We are given a chance to play.”
Aside from taking advantage of the team’s strengths, Marano pointed out that F2 must also accept their shortcomings from their recent loss in order for them to play better against Foton.
It’s not for me to say, for us it’s sacred sa amin na lang ‘yun.
Regardless of who the winner is this coming Wednesday, fans and spectators alike will surely be in for one solid match.
