Thirdy Ravena and San-En put up a spirited fight but it was not enough to stun Kawasaki, taking a 68-78 loss in the 2021-22 B.League season, Monday at Kawasaki Todoroki Arena.
Falling behind 22-32 at the half, the NeoPhoenix fought back in the third canto, scoring 29 points against Kawasaki’s 16 to cut the lead down to three entering the final frame.
Ravena was aggressive during the quarter, scoring nine points, while Robert Carter added 12.
Down by one, 63-62, with 3:31 left, Pablo Aguilar drained a trey that triggered a huge endgame run for the Brave Thunder.
Buckets by Yuma Fujii and Nick Fazekas demoralized San-En while Aguilar put the finishing touches for Kawasaki.
Kawasaki took its 20th win in 26 games while San-En fell to 4-22.
Fujii led Kawasaki with 20 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Fazekas scattered 16 points, 12 rebounds, and three assists; Aguilar got 15 points, five rebounds, and five assists; while Jordan Heath tallied 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Ravena and Carter got double-doubles with the former finishing with 17 points and 12 rebounds while the latter producing 20 points and 11 rebounds with four assists and three steals.
Elias Harris did not play in the game for San-En.
Ravena and San-En will head to Hokkaido this weekend to face Levanga.
