B.League: Thirdy Ravena’s return spoiled as San-En bows to Chiba late

Thirdy Ravena and San-En could not pull through late versus Chiba, suffering an 89-101 loss in the 2021-22 B.League season, Saturday at the Toyohashi City Gymnasium.

Returning from a two-game suspension, Ravena had 15 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

But it was not enough to snap the NeoPhoenix’s nine-game skid.

Down 68-71 with 8:53 left, San-En could not contain Josh Duncan as he took over late. He had 14 points in the final frame and spearheaded a late assault that gave the Jets a 90-76.

Duncan had 36 points on 12-of-18 shooting to go along with 15 rebounds and seven assists for the 13-4 Jets.

John Mooney also got a double-double with 28 points and 19 rebounds.

Locals Raita Akaho added 15 points built on four triples while Yuki Togashi glued things together with 13 dimes.

San-En, who fell to 3-14, was led by Robert Carter with 24 points, five rebounds, five assists, and four steals while Justin Knox got 14 points.

The two teams face off again tomorrow.
