B.League: Thirdy Ravena cools down vs Kyoto as San-En skid continues


After dropping a season-best 26 points yesterday, Thirdy Ravena misfired as San-En fell to Kyoto, 62-79, in the 2021-22 B.League season, Sunday at Kyoto City Gymnasium.

Ravena went just 4-of-11 from the field for 11 points. The NeoPhoenix sophomore also tallied four rebounds and four assists in the loss that was their fifth straight.

It was a wire-to-wire win for the Hannaryz.

Up by just eight points, 64-56, the duo of Jerome Tillman and Justin Harper powered a 15-6 finishing rally to put San-En away.

Harper had a game-high 30 points with 12 rebounds, while Tillman added 13 points and 10 rebounds. Tatsuya Suzuki added 13 points as well for Hokkaido, who went up to 6-23 in the standings.

San-En, who fell to 4-24, was led by Robert Carter, who had 18 points and 12 rebounds. Yoshiyuki Matsuwaki got 16 points as well.

San-En looks to bounce back on Wednesday when it faces Gunma at Toyohashi City Gymnasium.

Over at Hachinohe City East Gymnasium, Kemark Carino and Aomori suffered a humiliating 38-67 defeat at the hands of Koshigaya – their 14th straight loss in Division II.

It was a lackadaisical outing for the Wat’s. They only mustered eight points in the third canto and a measly five points in the last 10 minutes of the contest.

Carino only played the last minute and 34 seconds of the game for Aomori, who fell to 2-30 in the defeat.

All Alphas players scored in the contest, with Isaac Butts leading the way with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Tomoya Ochiai had 10 points and eight rebounds as well.

Aomori captain Daichi Shimoyama and Lakeem Jackson were the sole double digit scorer for their side with 12 apiece. Renaldo Dixon grabbed 12 points, but went just 2-of-13 from the field for seven points.

The Wat’s will next face Sendai on Wednesday at Shiogama Gas Gymnasium.
