Thirdy Ravena and San-En were stopped from their tracks by Yokohama, falling 68-79 in the 2021-22 B.League season, Saturday at Toyohashi City Gymnasium.
Ravena was limited to just 10 points on 4-of-9 shooting from the field with two assists and a steal in the game that saw the NeoPhoenix’s two-game winning streak snapped.
San-En never recovered from a 12-21 first quarter, trailing for the entire stretch of the game.
The closest the NeoPhoenix got to the B-Corsairs was 57-65 with 7:16 left. Yuki Kawamura though extinguished any momentum San-En got by firing seven in a 10-0 spurt to gain control of the game for good.
Yokohama went up to 14-25 while dropping San-En to 7-31.
Reginald Becton led Yokohama with 22 points and 13 rebounds while Leyton Hammonds got 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Kai King and Kawamura got 13 and 12 points respectively, with the latter also dishing out 10 assists.
Elias Harris paced San-En with 18 points and 12 rebounds while Yoshiyuki Matsuwaki added 12 markers.
The two teams meet again tomorrow.
