B.League: Thirdy checked as San-En falls to Hiroshima for third loss

Thirdy Ravena had a rough day in the office during San-En’s 76-78 loss to Hiroshima in Week Three of the 2021-22 B.League season, Saturday at Hiroshima Sun Plaza.

Ravena had been averaging 15.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in the NeoPhoenix’s first four games. This time, he was limited to just seven points on 3-of-12 shooting with three rebounds and an assist in 31 minutes of action.

Besides Ravena, San-En struggled to find the bucket for the entire game sans Elias Harris and Justin Knox.

Their field woes saw NeoPhoenix fall behind by as much as 15 points, 35-20, midway through the second stanza.

Though San-En was able to slice the lead down to six, 63-57, with six minutes left in the game, Thomas Kennedy made sure to stop the Dragonflies’ bleeding. He knocked down two big treys to power his side to a 74-60 lead that they would not relinquish.

Kennedy had 15 points spiked by five triples with four rebounds.

Greg Echenique led Hiroshima with 17 points and nine rebounds while Ryo Terashima added 13 points and seven rebounds. Nick Mayo also had 13 points for the 3-2 Dragonflies.

Harris paced San-En with 23 points and eight rebounds followed by Knox’s 15 points and nine rebounds.

San-En dropped to 2-3.

The two teams face off again tomorrow at 12:05 PM (Manila time).
