B.League: Parks leads Nagoya past Shinshu to remain in West top three


Bobby Ray Parks Jr. led Nagoya to an 82-65 win over Matthew Aquino and Shinshu in the 2021-22 B.League season, Saturday at Dolphins Arena.

Parks, who came off the bench for this one, fired 18 points on 6-of-11 shooting with four rebounds, three assists, and two steals to lead the Diamond Dolphins to a 23-10 record in the west.

With the game tied at 59-all with 7:40 remaining, Takumi Saito provided the spark while Ovie Soko and Parks provided the finish win a game-breakking 23-6 endgame rally to stop the skidding Brave Warriors.

Soko, who previously played for Shiga, got 16 points and seven rebounds while Scott Eatherton added 17 points and 14 rebounds.

Shinshu suffered its third loss in its last four games to fall to 19-21 in the standings.

Hawkinson was the only double-digit scorer for the Brave Warriors with 30 points and 11 rebounds.

Aquino did not play in the game.

The two squads meet once more tomorrow.
