B.League: Kobe Paras plays just 21 secs as Niigata drops 21st straight game

Niigata could not overcome its woes to close out the calendar year, suffering a 75-86 loss at the hands of Yokohama in the 2021-22 B.League season, Wednesday at City Hall Plaza Ao-re Nagaoka.

The Albirex BB lost their 21st straight game, falling to 2-22 in the standings.

Still, Niigata fought in the contest.

Down by as much as 21 points in the contest, Rosco Allen rallied Albirex in the final frame, cutting the lead down to nine, 68-77, with 3:19 left.

Masaaki Morikawa though had other plans, knocking a triple and, later on, a breakaway layup, to avert disaster.

Leyton Hammonds closed things out with a flurry to lift the B-Corsairs to an 8-16 slate.

Patrik Auda led Yokohama with 20 points, five rebounds, and three assists. Hammonds and Morikawa got 17 and 16 points, respectively, while Yuki Kawamura added 14 points and seven assists.

Rosco Allen was the high-point man once more for Niigata with 22 points and eight rebounds while Zen Endo got 18 points and six assists. Tshilidzi Nephawe notched a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds as well.

Kobe Paras played just 21 seconds in the contest.

Niigata will next face Shibuya on January 2 and 3.
