Kobe Paras and Niigata played their worst games of the young 2021-22 B.League season so far in their 58-81 loss at the hands of Mikawa, Friday at the Niigata City East Sports Center.
Paras, who was averaging 16.3 points per game, was held down to just six points on 3-of-9 shooting. The 6-foot-6 winger also had two rebounds, three assists, and two blocks but committed two turnovers.
A nine-point second quarter doomed Albirex.
During that stanza, Albirex shot just 4-of-12 from the field and it continued in the third canto as they were limited to just 15 points.
It was during the third quarter as well that saw the SeaHorses find their stroke that led to the rout.
Rosco Allen led the Albirex in the losing cause with 18 points, seven rebounds, and six assists. He also committed six turnovers.
Tshilidzi Nephawe had 11 points and five rebounds while Kimitake Sato had 11 points built on three treys.
Niigata suffered their fourth straight loss to fall to 2-5.
Mikawa, on the other hand, went up to 5-2.
Satoshi Nagano powered Mikawa with 22 points while Avi Schafer tallied 14 points and five rebounds. Ryogo Sumino and Yudai Nishida added 11 apiece.
Both squads face off again tomorrow at 4:05 PM (Manila time).
