Kiefer Ravena kept everyone happy as Shiga completed its 2021-22 B.League season sweep of Niigata with a 90-77 win, Sunday at Ukaru-chan Arena.
Ravena had 10 assists in the game against just one turnover with eight points, steering the Lakestars to a 9-14 slate.
On the other hand, his good friend Kobe Paras was benched by Albirex BB.
In their 78-59 loss yesterday, Paras was subbed out by head coach Tadaharu Ogawa after committing a careless turnover. The 6-foot-6 Filipino import was seen on the bench frustrated.
Up by just five, 64-59, heading into the final frame, Shiga pulled away with a 10-3 spurt sparked by an Ovie Soko layup and capped by a Teppei Kashigawa trey.
A Ravena find that led to a Soko jam with 1:54 left gave the Lakestars their biggest lead of the game, 86-70.
Soko, who came off the bench, led the way for Shiga with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Kashiwagura and Novar Gadson added 15 points each as the Lakestars notched their third straight win.
Zen Endo, who was averaging just 6.6 points prior to the game, paced Niigata with 25 points. Shun Watanuki added 14 points and 10 rebounds while Jeff Ayres chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds as Albirex BB suffered their 20th consecutive loss to fall to 2-21.
Tshilidzi Nephawe was held scoreless in the game while Rosco Allen was also a DNP due to a broken nose.
Up next for Shiga are the Hiroshima Fireflies on Wednesday at Hiroshima Sun Plaza. Niigata, meanwhile, looks to snap its skid on the same day as it squares off against Yokohama at City Hall Plaza Aore.
