B.League: Kiefer, Shiga routed by Kyoto

Kiefer Ravena and Shiga could not sustain their fine form from yesterday, dropping a 57-79 rout to Kyoto in the 2021-22 B.League season, Sunday at YMIT Arena.

Coming off a 96-102 loss yesterday, the Lakestars lost steam in this contest. Meanwhile, the Hannaryz raced to a 17-4 lead early and never looked back.

Kyoto never faltered the rest of the way, leading by as many as 28 points late in the game.

This was a crushing loss for Shiga – its 10th straight, falling to 10-27. Kyoto, on the other hand, rose to 11-29.

Justin Harper led Kyoto with 18 points and nine rebounds, while Yoshiaki Kubota added 14 points and eight assists.

Novar Gadson paced Shiga with 19 points. Sean O’ Mara got a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

With Kiefer Ravena limited to just seven points and an assist, team captain Teppei Kashiwagura stepped up. He finished with 12 points, six assists, and six rebounds.

Up next for Shiga is Osaka on Wednesday at Ukaruchan Arena.
