B.League: Kiefer Ravena held down to just four as Shiga skid continues

Kiefer Ravena and Shiga could not get anything going against Shinshu, suffering a 62-89 loss in the 2021-22 B.League season, Saturday at White Ring Arena.

Ravena, who was averaging 13.0 points and 5.8 assists prior to the contest, tallied his season-low four points on 2-of-7 shooting from the field with three assists in 21 minutes.

But it was not just Ravena who struggled, as the rest of the Lakestars were behind big early in the contest.

A slow first quarter doomed Shiga, falling behind 21-14, and never recovered.

The Brave Warriors’ lead would go to as high as 31 points, 86-55, with 2:05 left.

Shinshu had four players score in double digits with Reo Maeda leading the way with 16 points.

Anthony McHenry had 14 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, while Tatsuya Hishimaya got 14 points, five assists, and four rebounds. Yuta Okada added 12 points.

Wayne Marshall also grabbed 11 rebounds with seven points as Shinshu extended its streak to three wins to go up to 7-5.

Matthew Aquino was not in the lineup for Shinshu as Shinshu opted to plug Louis Kurihara.

Shinshu shot just 33-percent from the field and went just 4-of-18 from downtown. It was led by the 23 points of Ovie Soko.

Novar Gadson had nine points but shot just 3-of-17 from the field. Meanwhile, Sean O’ Mara found himself checked, tallying just nine points and five rebounds.

Shiga suffered its fifth straight loss to go down to 6-7.

The two squads square off again tomorrow.
