B.League: Javi GDL, Ibaraki rout Kobe Paras’ Niigata for third straight win

Ibaraki turned it up in the final frame, silencing Niigata with a 74-54 win in the 2021-22 B.League season, Saturday at Adastria Mito Arena.

Knotted at 43-all heading into the final frame, the Robots turned it up on both ends in a 31-11 final quarter to score their third straight win.

Eric Jacobsen caught fire in the final stanza, scoring nine of his 15 points during that stretch. Chehales Tapscott also scored seven points during that span.

On the other end, Ibaraki’s defense limited Niigata to a horrid 3-of-11 shooting during the last 10 minutes of the contest.

Tapscott also grabbed 11 rebounds in the contest while Marc Trasolini led the way with 18 points.

Javi Gomez de Liano only played three minutes in the game, going scoreless.

Ibaraki captured its 10th win in 38 games while dropping Niigata to a 5-34 record.

Rosco Allen and Kobe Paras were the sole bright spots for Albirex BB, who lost their fifth straight game.

Allen had 14 points and seven rebounds while Paras got 11 points.

The two squads meet again tomorrow.
