Aung La N Sang accepts Brandon Vera’s challenge

Four months after ONE Heavyweight World Champion Brandon Vera (16-7, 1NC) threw down a challenge to his Light Heavyweight counterpart, Aung La N Sang (25-10) has finally responded to it.

“You know I’ve always been a big fan of Brandon, and it would be an honor for me to fight Brandon in October,” N Sang said after defeating Ken Hasegawa to retain his crown, Sunday evening during ONE: A New Era in Tokyo, Japan.

Last November, Vera called out the Burmese athlete after making short work of Mauro Cerilli.

“I asked to fight who is holding the belt that time in the Light Heavyweight division. That’s who I want to fight next,” Vera declared.

Vera was there during N Sang’s fourth successful title defense. And he went to the cage to ask for N Sang’s response.

“Mr. Aung La, congrats on your win tonight. You’re a man among men.

“I would like to ask if we’re both healthy and were both in shape, could you and I meet here in Japan in October to challenge you for the Light Heavyweight title,” said Vera.

N Sang made sure to ask ONE CEO and Chairman Chatri Sityodtong first. Of course, he agreed to the blockbuster showdown that will be the sure-fire main attraction of ONE: Greatness Unleashed on Sunday, October 13.

“Let’s get it on!” the amiable executive quipped.
