Ichie Altamirano and San Sebastian College-Recoletos were not able to end their NCAA Season on a high note last Wednesday.
Altamirano, a graduating senior for the Stags gave everything in his final game, producing 24 points, four rebounds, and three assists. But obviously his statline wasn’t enough, dropping their final game against Mapua University, 75-67.
Still, the 5-foot-11 was proud of his team after putting up a decent performance this season, finishing fifth, just one spot shy of a final four spot.
“Lumaban naman kami every game e. So credits pa rin sa coaches and teammates ko, sa team namin sa Baste. Ginagawa namin lahat para manalo every game, kinakapos lang kami minsan sa mga talo namin,” said the Stags skipper.
Another bright spot for San Sebastian, according to Altamirano, is that the trio of Jessie Sumoda, Rommel Calahat, and Kenneth Villapando are still intact and will be ready to lead the team next year.
And the pro-bound guard is a hundred percent putting all his trust on them claiming that the triple tower will play big — figuratively, when the Season 99 comes.
When asked how excited he is to play pro, especially that he’ll meet his former San Sebastian teammates with the likes of JM Calma, he had this to say.
