Arwind Santos officially set to make Gilas return

After nine years, Arwind Santos is set to don the country’s colors again.

The 2013 PBA Most Valuable Player has been named as one of the 12 players who will suit up when Gilas Pilipinas takes on Iran on Monday, December 3 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Besides Santos, Jayson Castro and Troy Rosario are making their returns after serving out a three-game suspension due to the brawl between the Philippines and Australia last July 2.

Christian Standhardinger, who had 33 points and 12 rebounds against Iran last September 13, will be the team’s naturalized player.

The quartet replace Greg Slaughter, Stanley Pringle, Alex Cabagnot, and JP Erram from the Kazakhstan home game last Friday.

Completing the line up are Japeth Aguilar, Beau Belga, June Mar Fajardo, Marcio Lassiter, Gabe Norwood, LA Tenorio, Scottie Thompson, and Matthew Wright.

The Philippines (5-4) is looking to bounce back at the expense of Iran (6-3), who suffered a loss against Japan last Friday as well. A win could catapult the Philippines to second place in Group F of the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.
