Armel “Armel” Tabios’ Beastmaster proved to be the difference maker in Game Three, as TNC took down OB Esports x Neon via a 2-1 reverse sweep in the Dota Pro Circuit 2021: Season Two-Southeast Asia upper division, Saturday.
The 21-year-old midlaner abused the broken hero to its full extent. He finished with a monster line of 17 kills and 18 assists against three deaths in the 42-27 Game Three win.
TNC carry Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte also did damage with his Spectre. He came up with a game-high 27 assists along with 11 kills and just three kills.
An ultra kill from Armel past the 30-minute mark along with a crucial pickoff by Erin “Yopaj” Ferrer’s Sand King pretty much sealed the deal for TNC.
Yopaj was held to just seven kills, 11 deaths, and 14 assists in Game Three, which lasted for 42 minutes and 36 seconds. Meanwhile, OB.Neon carry John Anthony “Natsumi-” Vargas’ Nature’s Prophet had seven kills, seven deaths, and nine assists.
OB.Neon actually took the first match with Natsumi’s unorthodox Void Spirit carry leading the charge. Unfortunately, though, that strategy failed to work the second time around, with Gabbi’s Tiny wreaking havoc in Game Two.
TNC, after missing the ONE Esports Singapore Major, is now at the top spot of the upper division with a 3-0 standing. OB.Neon, on the other hand, slid to the fourth seat with a 1-1 card.
TNC will next face Boom Esports on May 5. Meanwhile, OB.Neon will be going up against fellow Filipino squad Execration on May 1.
