Another One: ABL Local MVP Ray Parks, Jr. returns to Alab

Reigning ASEAN Basketball League Local Most Valuable Player Ray Parks, Jr. is set to play his second season in the regional league, as he has signed once more with Alab Pilipinas, he and the team confirmed via social media on Thursday.

“I’m very happy to announce that I’m officially back for this coming ABL season,” the 24-year-old second-generation star proudly revealed through a short video message posted by Alab on Instagram.

The Gilas Pilipinas Cadet had a memorable campaign in his maiden season, including games where he scored 41 versus Kaohsiung Truth and made a league-record eight triples against Saigon Heat.

The proud son of Parañaque City was named the 2016-2017 ABL Local MVP as he posted norms of 19.0 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists. Through his notable play, Parks, Jr. led the Philippine contingent to a third-place finish.

Alab has recently announced that living legend and former Meralco Bolts assistant coach Jimmy Alapag will now be their head coach, taking the place of Mac Cuan. The team is also about to unveil their players in the coming weeks.
