Petron-Letran finished off its 2019 PBA D-League assignment with a big 115-73 rout of Batangas-EAC, Thursday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Alvin Pasaol scattered 29 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists as his hot streak early allowed the Knights to post a 32-14 advantage.
Jerrick Balanza chipped in 20 points, eight assists, seven rebounds, five steals, and two blocks, while Jeo Ambohot had 17 points and nine boards in the win.
The win ended Petron-Letran’s campaign at 6-3 as it still has a chance to make it to the Aspirants Group top four but would need Go for Gold-CSB and Che’Lu Bar and Grill to lose one of their remaining games.
“Hindi na namin hawak yung status namin,” rued coach Bonnie Tan. “Binibigay naman namin parati ang best effort namin. May games lang talaga na kailangan naming mag-invest.”
Batangas-EAC still fought back and got to within nine, 69-58, thanks to Kyle Carlos’ eruption but Petron-Letran’s all-out attack was just too much in the fourth period, ending the game with a 39-12 quarter.
Carlos topped the lowly Generals with 24 points to exit with a 2-7 record.
