Alvin Pasaol has raised his game in the UAAP Season 81 Men’s Basketball Tournament. Unfortunately, the University of the East Red Warriors can’t say the same.
To end the first round, the burly 6-foot-3 forward was second in the Most Valuable Player race with a total of 71.57 statistical points due to his averages of 23.71 points per game to go along with 10.14 rebounds and 1.57 steals.
On the other hand, UE ended their first round campaign on a disappointing 1-6 slate – the same record they had a season ago.
To open the second round on Wednesday afternoon, Pasaol continued his tear, tallying 22 points and 17 rebounds against the De La Salle University Green Archers. However, the Red Warriors lost the game, 59-79.
But even when they faced a huge lead, the 22-year-old Davaoeno continued to push his teammates.
“Sinabi ko sa kanila maglaro lang sila ng mabuti, kaming lahat maglaro lang ng mabuti,” he said.
Moreover, all he wanted to do was lead by example.
“Ganoon yung mas gusto ko,” he added.
“Mas maganda yung leader ka in action kaysa lip service lang yung ginagawa mo.”
Even if the Red Warriors have been spiraling, Pasaol remains confident that they can turn things around. Just like a true leader.
