Allana Lim, Clare Castro power Paranaque to WNBL top seed


Parañaque inched closer to an eliminations sweep after ousting Taguig, 63-49, in the Pia Cayetano WNBL Season 2021 at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center in San Fernando, Pampanga, Saturday.

Allana Lim continued to act as the rock that held the Lady Aces together with 24 points, 14 rebounds, and three assists.

Parañaque remain immaculate in six outings with two games left.

After a seesaw first half that had Parañaque ahead by just two at the break, 31-29, the Lady Aces came out blazing in the third period.

The undefeated squad outscored the Lady Generals in the third, 15-8. Then they put the finishing touches in the ensuing frame.

Clare Castro stayed an efficient threat in limited minutes, producing 12 points and 10 rebounds in just 21:27 of floor time.

AJ Gloriani facilitated off the bench with seven points and eight assists, while Jamie Alcoy had six points.

Janeth Sison was the lone bright spot for Taguig with 14 points and seven rebounds. However, she needed 15 shots.

Kikay Gandalla and Sofia Felisarta brought the much-needed spark off the bench with eight points apiece.

The Lady Generals slid to 3-3 at third place, ahead of Stan Quezon (1-4) and Pacific Water (1-6).
