Blackwater has pulled off another move in line with its rebuild.
On Tuesday, the Bossing has traded Mike Tolomia to Alaska in exchange for veteran guard Jvee Casio and sophomore big man Barkley Ebona.
Head coach Ariel Vanguardia confirmed the development to Tiebreaker TImes, although the deal is still waiting for approval from the PBA.
The news was first reported by Spin.ph.
This is now the second trade that Blackwater has taken part into. Last month, it sent Simon Enciso to Terrafirma for Rashawn McCarthy.
Now, it is letting go of the 28-year-old gunslinger, who was actually one of the few bright spots in a winless 2021 Philippine Cup campaign.
Tolomia, who’s been traded twice in the past, averaged 11.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.9 assists as he played all 11 games.
But the Bossing will get themselves a veteran presence in the 35-year-old Casio, as well as a much-needed frontline boost in Ebona.
Casio, himself a Gilas Pilipinas pioneer, will end his nine-year stay with the Aces, which began in 2012 that saw him win his lone title in 2013.
He became part of the Uytengsu franchise prior to the 2012-13 season as he got traded by Powerade, who drafted him first overall in 2011.
