Sonny Thoss made sure to show his never-ending support for Alaska despite his absence from the bubble in Clark, Pampanga.
The veteran center, who decided to sit out this season, attended the Aces’ game versus TNT Sunday — as a virtual fan, of course.
“Yea he was there. It was good to see him,” beamed head coach Jeff Cariaso, who appreciated Thoss watching their match.
Thoss was among the virtual spectators of the first day of the season resumption after seven months of stoppage due to the pandemic.
Unfortunately, the Milkmen bowed to the Tropang GIGA, 95-100, no thanks to the hot hands of Roger Pogoy, who erupted for 45 points.
Still, Cariaso is glad that Thoss was there to watch their game, especially since they are missing his presence in the bubble.
“More than anything, you just miss his presence. There’s never been a practice or a game na wala si Sonny the last 15 years. Doon pa lang, iba na,” he said.
The cager-turned-coach even noted that the 38-year-old was an early bird among the virtual fans, which Cariaso said is typical of him.
“Like always, siya ‘yung pinaka-maaga na nanonood eh, ‘di ba. Sonny’s always early. If call time is 11 a.m., he’ll be there at 9:30. Ganun siya eh.”
