There’s this possibility that “Jawo” will suit up for Barangay Ginebra soon.
The Living Legend himself, former Senator Robert Jaworski said that he will see action for the crowd favorites, should there be a sequel of the Return of the Rivals fundraising event.
The decorated coach said so moments after his Barangay won over long-time rivals Purefoods in a Manila Clasico affair, 97-89, Sunday night at a jam-packed SMART Araneta Coliseum.
“Alam mo, sa susunod na bahagi maglalaro tayo. Promise yan,” the now-72 year old declared.
Sunday night marked the first time Jaworski coached a team since 1998, or since his last season with Ginebra. And he couldn’t be more satisfied that his return ended up with a win.
“Maganda. Alam mo kung bakit? Nanalo!” he said.
Moreover, the 13-time champion is glad about what he had seen from his chargers, despite the limited time they had in preparing for the event that will benefit the PBA Legends Foundation.
“Well, the excitement was there because most of those guys didn’t practice at all,” the former Olympian shared. “But the good thing was they were trying to give their best given the situation.
“We were only informed in week’s time.”
