Freddy Ibrahim will be returning to Manila soon after coming to terms with Abra Solid North ahead of the 2026-27 East Asia Super League competitions.
Sources privy to the matter told Tiebreaker Times that the Jordanian star is set to become the Weavers’ Asian import for the pan-regional tilt, as the reigning MPBL champions are leaving no stone unturned in their first international foray.
Abra has previously signed naturalized center Malick Diouf and former Rain or Shine big man Jaylen Johnson as its reinforcements for the tournament, which tips off on October 3 at the newly opened SM Seaside Cebu Arena.
The Weavers will be headlining the double-header opener with a bout against Hong Kong Eastern, and all imports are expected to suit up and compete, with Ibrahim flying in on Sunday, according to another source.
The Ontario, Canada-born floor general has become familiar to Filipino fans, especially after Jordan played in Window 4 of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
The Falcons unfortunately got swept by the Philippines and Australia in a rough start to their Second Round campaign, but Ibrahim himself served as one of the few bright spots, averaging 16.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists.
He gave Gilas problems during their encounter last August 28, firing 22 points behind a 4-of-6 clip from beyond the arc, which he laced with four rebounds and five assists before the home team escaped with an 82-81 decision.

Ibrahim was actually a WASL pioneer after playing for Orthodox Amman in the 2022-23 inaugural season, and returned in 2025 as part of Amman United.
Soon, he’ll become the latest former WASL star to take his act to the EASL after Iran’s Sina Vahedi, who suited up for Meralco and New Taipei last season.
Ibrahim is fresh off the 20th Asian Games in Aichi, Japan, where Jordan was eliminated by Korea in the quarterfinals just last Wednesday.
