Abra Solid North owner Rep. JB Bernos wished Geo Chiu well as the 6-foot-10 big man begins the next chapter of his career with Terrafirma.
On Christmas Day, the representative of Abra’s lone district formally bid farewell to Chiu, who spent one season with the Weavers.
“Once a Weaver, always a Weaver. Abra will always be grateful for your service. Good luck on your next journey, Weaver Geo!” Bernos wrote.
In his lone year with Abra Solid North, Chiu averaged 5.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks across 21 games, playing a key role in the team’s historic run to the 2025 MPBL national title.
During the MPBL season, Chiu also declared for the 2025 PBA Draft, where he was selected first overall by the Dyip.
Chiu is expected to sign a three-year maximum contract with Terrafirma in the coming days.
Under PBA rules, had he chosen not to sign with the Dyip, he would have been barred from playing in the league for the next three years.
Terrafirma, meanwhile, will not be allowed to trade Chiu until after two seasons.
