JGFP Inter-School Golf Tournament tees off

By: Waylon Galvez

The 2025 edition of the Inter-School Golf Tournament, one of the flagship programs of the Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines (JGFP), started last weekend and will run until February 2026, bringing together top golfers from various academic institutions across the country.

As in previous years, the tournament features four divisions to ensure balanced competition: Lower School, Middle School, Junior High, and Senior High.

Immaculate Conception Academy will defend its title in the Lower School division, while Assumption College will try to retain the Middle School crown. Xavier School will aim for back-to-back glory in Junior High.

Meanwhile, De La Salle Zobel will look to extend its dominance in Senior High.

According to JGFP president Oliver Gan, around 400 golfers are expected to compete in this year’s Inter-School.

“We’re definitely excited that once again the Inter-School is upon us. Every golfer from different schools looks forward to this — representing their alma mater on the course,” said Gan, who was recently re-elected to a second term as JGFP president.

The opening weekend was held at Mimosa Plus Golf Course in Pampanga, with matches taking place at the Acacia Course on Saturday and the Mountain Course on Sunday.

Aside from ICA, Assumption, Xavier, and La Salle Zobel, a wide range of schools are competing this year.

These include Assumption Antipolo, Assumption San Lorenzo, Brent International School-Manila, Brent International School-Subic, Cambridge School, Canossa Academy, Christian Ecclesiastical School, Claret School of Quezon City, Colegio De San Agustin, Crimson Global Academy, DLSU-Laguna Campus, and Domuschola International School.
