F2 Logistics cruises past Cignal HD


Defending champions F2 Logistics Cargo Movers made short work of the Cignal HD Spikers, 25-21, 25-17, 25-14, to bag their third win of the 2018 Chooks to Go-Philippine Superliga Grand Prix at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

The HD Spikers started the match with a bit of energy, erasing an early 13-8 lead to take a short-lived 18-17 lead. From there, F2 Logistics traded blows, until they mustered a 4-1 run capped by an Ara Galang ace that broke a 20-all knot.

The following two sets saw the HD Spikers lose all their zeal. F2 Logistics waltzed to a 21-11 lead in the second frame then went on a 23-11 rampage to close the match.

“I feel like every game we’re getting better and better. We’re becoming more confident as a team and we’re improving our communication the more we play,” said reigning Most Valuable Player MJ Perez who towed the Cargo Movers with 16 points.

Kennedy Bryan and Aby Maraño paced F2 Logistics with nine points, apiece.

Sonja Milanovic topped the HD Spikers with 12 points while Jeane Horton added 10. While Cignal’s offense was at par with F2’s, they gave up a whooping 28 errors, 12 more that the Cargo Movers.

Both squads play again on Saturday. The Cargo Movers (3-1) face the Foton Tornadoes (2-4) while Cignal (2-3) takes on Smart Prepaid (0-6)
