IEM ends elims with sweep of Café Lupe

The IEM Phoenix Volley Masters capped their Premier Volleyball League elimination round campaign with a straight-set triumph over winless Café Lupe Sunrisers 25-14, 25-17, 25-21 at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

IEM dominated the match from the first point, lighting up the scoresheet in every category. IEM tallied 10 blocks to Cafè Lupe’s two and 45 attack points to the Sunrisers’ 28.

FEU standout Greg Dolor continued his tremendous season, again leading IEM with 22 points off 18 attacks, two blocks, and two aces.

“We did pretty well today. All we wanted to do was enjoy the game and execute. I think we accomplished that,” said IEM head coach Ernesto Balubar.

IEM finished with a 2-3 record. Whether they make the semis is out of their hands as they will need one of the four other top teams to keep losing matches.

Perpetual Altas middle blocker Manuel Doliente was the only bright spot for Cafè Lupe with eight points.

The Sunrisers dropped to the bottom with a 0-4 slate.
