UAAP Season 77 double champions, the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Growling Tigers and Tigresses, continued to show their mettle on Sunday, March 29, at the 2015 edition of Diliman Slam. This is the invitational Judo tournament of the University of the Philippines (UP), which was held at UP’s College of Human Kinetics Gym.
The Tigers raked most of the gold medals in both the all-white and open belt categories of both the men’s and women’s categories in this annual tiff sponsored by the UP Judo Club. This event included both school-based and club-based judo practitioners, as well as representatives all the way from Baguio’s University of the Cordilleras (UCB). Leading the charge for UST was UAAP 77 men’s MVP Al Rolan Llamas and women’s gold medallist Kimberly Pantoja. Other notable performances were from Keith Reyes and Ivan Oleta of De La Salle University, and Brian Azarcon and Dylwynn Gimena of hosts UP.
