2019 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers

All 19 men suit up in Gilas practice as Qualifiers get nearer

All 19 players suited up in Gilas Pilipinas’ practice session on Monday evening at the Meralco Gym in Pasig City, as the 2019 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers is now just around the corner.

Gilas is not showing any sign of slowing down in their preparations — the Nationals are coming off a grueling week where they figured in four tuneups versus Jordan and Lebanon.

Gilas veterans LA Tenorio, Jayson Castro, Troy Rosario, Marcio Lassiter, Gabe Norwood, Japeth Aguilar, Greg Slaughter, and June Mar Fajardo spearheaded the cast.

Also present are Matthew Wright, Paul Lee, Beau Belga, Arwind Santos, Scottie Thompson, Alex Cabagnot, Poy Erram, and naturalized players Stanley Pringle and Christian Standhardinger.

Completing the attendance are Cadets Kai Sotto and Ricci Rivero.

The pool got reduced from its’ initial count of 20 as 6-foot-7 center Ian Sangalang has already been ruled out for the upcoming showpiece, as he is currently recovering from injuries.

Gilas is working as hard as they could as their first assignment in the Asian Qualifiers’ fifth window is already on Friday, November 30, where they will go head-to-head with Kazakhstan.

The Filipino dribblers will then take on Iran on December 3.

Both games will be held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
