Zamboanga Valientes forfeit PBA 3×3 leg 6 due to lack of players


Zamboanga will no longer play in Leg 6 of the PBA 3×3 inaugurals.

Tournament director Joey Guanio said that the Valientes could not compete due to injuries, thus the committee’s decision to forfeit all their games.

“Lack of players sila due to injuries. That’s what they reported and submitted,” the amiable executive wrote in a text message to Tiebreaker Times.

A broadcast report said that JR Cawaling was the only one available. Forty-year-old Mac Cardona, Das Esa, and Gino Jumao-as are all hurt.

Forwards Kyle Neypes and Rey De Mesa both had availability issues as well, although the reason behind such wasn’t disclosed.

“They lack the number of players to start a game,” Guanio wrote.

With this, Zamboanga has ended its first conference campaign with a 0-24 record whole giving its opponents easy wins for the sixth leg.

Grouped in Pool A, the Valientes were supposed to battle Platinum Karaoke, Pioneer ProTibay, and CAVITEX in Day 1, and then Limitless the next day.
