World Balance unveils ST3 Glory, celebrating Scottie Thompson’s basketball milestones

World Balance is set to release a new colorway of Scottie Thompson’s signature ST3 shoe on July 12—perfectly timed to celebrate the former PBA MVP’s birthday.

Dubbed the ST3 ‘Glory’, the sneaker features a striking black and gold design. The bold touch of gold symbolizes Thompson’s decorated basketball career and relentless pursuit of greatness, while the black base offers a timeless, sophisticated contrast.

Thompson first debuted the ST3 ‘Glory’ during the Philippines’ home stand in the second window of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers last November. He played a pivotal role in Gilas Pilipinas’ two-game sweep of that window—most notably in their thrilling 93–89 upset of then world no. 22 New Zealand, which ended the Nationals’ long-standing drought against the Tall Blacks.

In that game, Thompson delivered 12 points, four rebounds, and six assists, showcasing his leadership in a clash of previously unbeaten teams. He followed it up with an efficient performance—eight points, three rebounds, and three assists—in Gilas’ commanding 93–54 win over Hong Kong.World-Balanca-ST3-Glory World Balance unveils ST3 Glory, celebrating Scottie Thompson’s basketball milestones Basketball News PBA - philippine sports news

The black-and-gold sneakers quickly became emblematic of Thompson’s impact and leadership on the court, as the victories helped secure the Philippines’ qualification to the Asia Cup proper in Saudi Arabia.

This upcoming launch also marks another milestone in Thompson’s career—his inclusion in the PBA’s 50 Greatest Players list, announced in April 2025. At just 31 years old, Thompson is among the youngest ever to receive the honor and is one of only two active players named, joining fellow icon June Mar Fajardo.

Reflecting on the recognition, Thompson humbly expressed gratitude, acknowledging the many other talented players who continue to elevate Philippine basketball.

Engineered for peak performance, the ST3 ‘Glory’ is equipped with S-Ride foam technology for superior impact absorption, a Stable Lateral Outrigger for enhanced control during quick movements, and a snug, sock-like fit tailored for intense gameplay—a consistent feature in Thompson’s signature line.

Fans can look forward to the ST3 ‘Glory’ hitting World Balance stores and online platforms starting July 12. Retailing at ₱3,999.00, the shoe delivers a stylish fusion of form and function—an apt tribute to one of Philippine basketball’s brightest stars.
