Work Auster Force exacted sweet revenge against Aura PH, scoring a 2-0 sweep to snap their four-game winning streak in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Seven, Saturday afternoon.
The win helped Work climb to the top of Group A through 16 points and a 5-3 win-loss record.
The surprise Martis pick of Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales gave Aura PH a sizable advantage in the early goings of Game Two, with the team even taking the first lord for the match.
However, an overextension by Aura PH, which saw them lose four members in the 14-minute mark, gave Work Auster Force the window to come back from the match.
Everything snowballed from there as the rookies caught the two-time champions at the top lane to complete a sweep and eventually seal the series.
Dylan “Unravel” Catipon’s Jawhead, who finished with nine assists against five deaths in the 15-12 Game Two win, nabbed the Smart MVP award.
Work Auster Force leaned on the Claude of Daniel “Chuuu” Chu as Frediemar “3MarTzy” Serafico’s Lapu Lapu while the rest of the gang split the map to provide Chu the much-needed space to farm.
As soon as Chuuu picked up his core items in Demon Hunter Sword and Golden Staff, it was all over for Aura PH as they lacked the damage to match Work Auster Force’s superior output.
The former BNK Blufire core put up a clean 5-0-8 stat line en route to the Smart MVP award in the 16-10 Game One that lasted for 12 minutes and 10 seconds.
The last time these two met, Aura PH was able to initiate a reverse sweep to defeat Work in the season opener.
Aura PH will slide down the second place in the same group with 14 points through a 5-2 slate.
Work Auster Force will next face Smart Omega Esports tomorrow at 6:00 pm while Aura PH will go up against BREN Esports on Saturday also at 6:00 pm.
