This season has been rocky for the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws, to say the least. The ladies of Morayta have had trouble stringing together multiple wins, hence their 6-6 record heading into Saturday.
The Lady Tamaraws went into the match knowing a loss to the National University Lady Bulldogs would have eliminated them. And while it may be too much to say that they played with their lives on the line, that was what the Lady Tamaraws exactly did.
FEU streaked past NU in arguably their best outing of the season, sweeping the season series to keep themselves in the Final Four race.
According to team captain Remy Palma, FEU had needed to reset their mindset prior to the game.
Kailangan ma-excite lang kami and tanggapin ‘yung challenge,” added FEU’s offensive ace Bernadeth Pons, who scored 16 points and had 16 excellent receptions on 31 attempts.
For FEU to qualify for the Final Four, they will need to win on Wednesday against the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons. If they lose, their season is over.
Remy Palma’s UAAP career would then be over, as well.
The fiery middle blocker is having none of that.
“Last playing year ko ‘to.
