Securing the win was just one of two major goals for ONIC Philippines head coach Anthony “YnoT” Senedrin on Friday night at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati.
Shortly after ONIC PH officially punched its ticket to the MPL Philippines Season 15 playoffs, fans in attendance were treated to a heartwarming moment as YnoT got down on one knee and proposed to his now-fiancée, Dorothy Policarpio.
As it turns out, the proposal was far from a spontaneous gesture. YnoT revealed that the idea of marrying Policarpio had been on his mind since the early days of their relationship.
“Actually ano eh, parang, kasi matagal ko na talagang planong pakasalan si Dorothy. So, parang few months palang kami sinabi ko na sa kanya yun, ‘Ikaw yung papakasalan kong babae’,” he shared.

He explained that the only reason he had postponed the proposal was to make sure he could financially support Policarpio and her children — kids he already considered his own.
“Sabi ko hintayin mo lang, kailangan ko lang ng pera. Chill ka lang diyan, kailangan ko lang ng pera ha. Kasi kailangan ko ma-sure na makapag-provide ako for her and her kids, which in the future would be my kids as well,” he added.
With ONIC PH set to fly to Jakarta, Indonesia, for the Snapdragon Pro Series Mobile Masters happening from April 7 to 13, YnoT decided there was no better time to pop the question than just before they left the country.
“Parang na-realize ko lang, ayun nga, bago kami pumunta ng Indo, sabi ko sa players ko, ‘Uy magpro-propose ako sa Friday ah.’ Sabi nila, ‘Hindi nga coach!?’ So pinaalam nalang namin sa prod ng MPL and I think they were more than excited to help me, pagdating dun sa proposal,” YnoT recalled.
But now, with the “Super Family” set to represent the Philippines alongside Team Falcons at the SPS Mobile Masters, YnoT must shift his focus back to the task at hand.
ONIC PH will open its campaign on April 7 with matches against China’s YBinGame and Team Liquid Indonesia.
