Will Gozum faces major setback with ACL, MCL tears ahead of PBA Draft

Will Gozum has suffered a significant setback ahead of the 2024 PBA Draft.

The 6-foot-6 sweet-shooting big man has torn his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his left knee.

Benilde head coach Charles Tiu confirmed the development to Tiebreaker Times.

Gozum sustained the injury five days ago during Quezon’s game against Batangas-Tanduay in the 2024 MPBL season.

With 55 seconds left in the game, Gozum got a steal and tried to avoid CJ Isit.

As he was about to turn around, he twisted his left knee, resulting in the injury.

This season, the NCAA Season 98 MVP averaged 8.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game.

It takes at least nine months to recover from such an injury.

As a result, the Huskers have declared Gozum out for the season, and he will most likely skip this year’s draft.
