Despite the heavy rains outside the AUF Sports & Cultural Center, TNT active consultant Mark Dickel was wearing cool blue sunglasses during their game against Alaska, Sunday evening.
But it’s not for the sake of making a fashion statement.
According to Dickel’s mentor Tab Baldwin, the 43-year-old Kiwi tactician needed the eyewear for an allergic reaction suffered over the past few days.
“He had a pretty severe allergic reaction in his eyes over in Clark,” the former Tropang GIGA assistant coach bared to Tiebreaker Times.
Still, it looked good on Dickel, as it matched the grey unis of Tropang Giga.
But more than just looking good, Dickel and the rest of TNT felt excellent after the game. The Tropang GIGA racked up a 100-95 victory over Alaska in their season opener.
The last time PBA fans saw a tactician wear shades on the sidelines was way back in 2013. Then-Globalport head coach Junel Baculi had to sport one due to a minor eye procedure.
