After going through a mid-season import change, the Petro Gazz Angels will have to deal with another lineup shift.
Veteran winger Wensh Tiu will most likely sit out the rest of the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference after a paroneal tendon dislocation on her ankle.
Tiu suffered the injury midway through the Angels’ five-set comeback win over the BanKo-Perlas Lady Spikers last Saturday, where she had a major role in sparking the late rally. She initially thought the injury was just an ankle sprain, until she started moving and hearing pops. It wasn’t until she visited the doctor that she confirmed was more severe.
The former DLSU Lady Spiker will have to rest her ankle for two weeks before getting re-evaluated to see if surgery will be required. All in all, Tiu will most likely need six weeks to fully recover.
While the injury dampened her spirits, the 27-year-old Angel is expecting Petro Gazz to continue building off the momentum they gained from their first win.
