2022 VNL Season

Volleyball NTs to have friendlies during VNL week

As part of the promotion of the upcoming 2022 FIVB Volleyball Nations League, the Philippine men’s and women’s national volleyball teams will participate in a series of exhibition matches against selected teams this coming June.

Philippine National Volleyball Federation Tats Suzara delivered the good news during the PNVF’s send-off luncheon for Southeast Asian Games-bound athletes, coaches, and team officials last Wednesday at the La Luna Café.

“We have the VNL in June, next month, and we have made arrangements for our national team to play [in exhibition matches],” shared Suzara.

The women’s team will face Thailand on June 11 before facing off against Japan on the following day. Meanwhile, the men’s squad will also take on Japan on June 16 and Germany on June 27.

“Since we have eight women’s teams coming here, we’ll have an exhibition match with Thailand on June 11 and then another exhibition match with Japan on June 12. So the women’s team will have an exhibition match against Thailand and Japan to promote the VNL,” said Suzara.

“For the men’s team, we have an exhibition match with Japan also on June 16 and we are confirming one more match on June 27 with Germany kasi yung Germany gustong mag practice rin,” he added.

All games will be held at the FilOil Flying V Centre in San Juan. Spectators are also allowed during the friendly matches.

The Philippines is set to host the VNL’s second week from June 14 to 19 (women’s) and from June 21 to 26 (men’s).
