NAOS Esports took one step closer to becoming the first Filipino esports organization in the Pacific League after emerging from the lower bracket to secure a 3-2 grand finals victory over Oasis Gaming and claim the VALORANT Challengers League 2023: Philippines Split 2 title on Sunday at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
With this win, NAOS will represent the Philippines in the VALORANT Challengers Ascension 2023: Pacific, scheduled to take place from June 28 to July 9 in a LAN event in Thailand.
The sole winner of the Ascension Pacific, which features 10 representative teams from the region, will join the VALORANT Champions Tour: Pacific League for 2024 and 2025.
The VCT Pacific League currently consists of 10 partner teams, including the European Esports giant Team Secret, which is composed of Filipino players and recently finished 5th-6th.
Before their victorious grand finals performance, NAOS went undefeated in the group stages and continued their stellar play in the playoffs, sweeping Action PH 2-0 in the upper bracket semi-finals.
However, they suffered a stinging 2-1 loss to Oasis Gaming in the upper bracket finals before dominating ZOL Esports with a 3-1 victory in the lower bracket finals, setting the stage for their revenge win in the grand finals.
This marks the second title conquest for NAOS Esports this year, following their victory in the VCL Philippines Split 1 last March.
