Vanie Gandler goes red, signs with Cignal

Vanie Gandler has made her decision.

The 5-foot-9 outside spiker will play for Cignal in the Premier Volleyball League.

“As I enter a new phase of my life after college, I’m more than excited to join a volleyball team such as the Cignal HD Spikers,” the 22-year-old said.

“The players, coaching staff, and management more than welcomed me into the fold and I’m looking forward to performing to the best of my abilities to help bring Team Awesome to a higher level. Here’s to starting new beginnings and getting out of my comfort zone.”

She attended her first practice with the team on Thursday.

Gandler spent the last four years with Ateneo, winning the championship in UAAP Season 81.

In her senior year, she was the sixth-best outside spiker with a total of 154 points built on 134 attacks, eight blocks, and 12 aces.

Rachel Daquis, Ces Molina, and Jerrili Malabanan are the other outside spikers of Cignal.

Cignal finished in sixth place during the All-Filipino Conference.
