Vanessa De Jesus tallies all-around line as Duke snaps skid


Falling to no. 21 in the national rankings, Duke rose to the occasion, picking up a hard-fought 58-49 win over Miami in Atlantic Coast Conference action, Wednesday morning (Manila time) at the Watsco Center in Miami, Florida.

Vanessa De Jesus came off the bench once more, sparking the Blue Devils with an output of five assists, four points, four rebounds, and three steals.

It was a tough road win for Duke, who fell behind 45-44 midway through the final frame.

Duke would answer back with a 6-0 rally before clamping Miami to close out the game.

Miela Goodchild led the way for Duke with 17 points and seven rebounds to power Duke to a 12-4 overall record, 3-3 in conference play.

Shayeann Day-Wilson added 11 points and seven rebounds as the Blue Devils snapped their two-game skid.

Maeva Djaldi-Tabdi got 19 points and five rebounds while Kelsey Marshall added 15 points for Miami, who fell to 9-6 overall and 2-3 in conference play.

Duke hosts Virginia next on Monday (Manila time).
