Valientes field all-Zamboangueno team for Chooks 3×3

Zamboanga Peninsula Valientes MLV will fiel in an all-Zamboangueno roster for the Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3 President’s Cup powered by TM to be played inside the bubble in Inspire Sports Academy in Calamba starting on October 21.

Rudy Lingganay banners the squad together with Gino Jumao-as, Darwin Cordero, Das Esa, RR De Leon, Med Salim, and Jon Rebollos.

“This is a big opportunity for Valientes to be able to play in the first professional 3×3 in the country and we want it to be more meaningful since we are the only team that will represent Zamboanga with all players born from Zamboanga,” said team manager Rolando Navarro.

There are two teams representing the City of Flowers in the league, the Valientes and Family’s Brand Sardines-Zamboanga City — the latter featuring national team pool players Joshua Munzon, Alvin Pasaol, Troy Rike, and Santi Santillan.

The Valientes, the first-ever professional basketball team of the city, is eyeing a strong showing in the bubble following weeks of training.

Experience will be on the side of Zamboanga Peninsula as it is the only squad in the 12-team field that competed in all three conferences of the 2019 Chooks-to-Go season.

The Valientes, supported by sports patrons Cory Navarro and Mike Venezuela, as well as Zamboanga City mayor Beng Climaco, also joined the 2019 Chooks-to-Go FIBA 3X3 Manila Challenger.

“The Zamboanguenos are very proud of this team since this is the only team that has full-blooded Zamboanguenos representing the province,” said coach Joseph Romarate.

MLV also backs Pagadian City Rocky Sports which will consist of Ryan Buenafe, Jan Jamon, RJ Argamino, Austin Fabian, Alex Mohamad, and Marvin Forniza.
