Valdez will not play in Bali Pure’s next outing says Soriano

Alyssa Valdez’s Bali Pure debut will have to wait a little longer.

The Water Defenders’ co-captain is set to return from her Eurotrip on Tuesday, June 7. However, Bali Pure’s playing-coach Charo Soriano said that the team’s physical therapist advised that Valdez needs to undergo proper conditioning to better prepare herself for the grind of the short V-League tournament.

“She was advised by our physical therapist not to play immediately,” Soriano said. “She’ll need to rest and undergo proper conditioning going into our last few matches.”

Valdez will miss her team’s game against the Iriga City Lady Oragons scheduled on Wednesday, June 8. Moreover, Bali Pure’s thrilling five-set win over the National University Lady Bulldogs gave the Water Defenders cushion to sit-out Valdez once more. “The win gave us confidence that we can handle our next match against Iriga,” the former Lady Eagle added.

The same was the case for the team’s co-captain Grethcel Soltones. The San Sebastian Lady Stag just returned from the same Eurotrip last Wednesday. Soriano shared that she also had to pass certain tests before being cleared to play for the team. “She had to rest last Thursday and had to pass the medicals last Friday,” Soriano shared. “She only trained with us last weekend.”

Bali Pure will also miss the services of Soriano, Bea Tan, and assistant coach Alexa Micek on Wednesday because of the BVR Invitational tournament to be held in Cagayan.
